I am a little bit over the moon that Microsoft has announced that it has developed and is now shipping a Windows 10 entertainment pack. It is available for download to those of you who own Windows 8 and/or Windows 7. Microsoft says that the pack is a “fantastic” way to get your entertainment needs met with the latest Windows 10.
This is great news for those of us who are tired of being stuck with Windows 8 and/or Windows 8.1. You can install the entertainment pack on any PC you own that runs Windows 10, and it will play everything from Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 to newer versions of Microsoft’s operating systems. It’s also available on Xbox One (if you’re into that as well).
Sounds like a win-win, right? It’s good to know that we can go back to a more familiar system and get some of the newer features and functionality. For instance, the Xbox One version can run Windows Phone 7 apps. The entertainment pack for Windows 10 also supports both Windows 8 and Windows 10, so there’s no reason we can’t play Windows 8 and Windows 10 apps. I’m looking forward to trying this out.
Well, we all are. This is just the latest in Microsoft’s “Windows 10-only” program. If you have a Windows 10 PC, you can run the Xbox One version of Windows 10 for free, and if you have an Xbox One, you can use this entertainment pack for free too. This is a great example of why Windows 10 is superior to Android and iOS.
Microsoft is trying to do a few things in Windows 10, like offering more apps for free, bundling the Xbox One game with Windows 10 and other Windows 10 features, and allowing developers to create apps of their own. That last one is a big deal, because Microsoft offers a developer program for both the Windows 10 console and PC. The Xbox One will be pre-loaded with Windows 10 apps by default, and Windows 10 apps will be available for free.
The developers who are allowed to create apps on Windows 10 are the ones who create good apps for Windows 10. Microsoft also does a good job of letting people share their apps with other people. This means that it is possible to share an app with all of your friends at once, and it is possible to share a single app with no more than five people. Developers who create good Windows 10 apps have also had the chance to be included in Windows 10’s developer program.

I’m not sure what the microsoft entertainment pack is, but it has been in the works since the launch of Windows 10. There are other ways to get Windows 10, like buying a copy of the Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Home editions. The pack is available in the Windows Store, and the developers of apps for Windows 10 will be able to get a lot of free updates for Windows 10.
The entertainment pack is Windows 10’s way of letting developers get access to new features and APIs (Application Programming Interface) in a way that would otherwise require them to pay Microsoft for access to them. Microsoft wants to make Windows 10 a “full-featured app platform” that allows developers to create and distribute apps for the operating system in the same way they would on a mobile platform like iOS or Android.
